Create campaign
This section explains how to create and configure a preorder campaign in Dotsy PreOrder & Presale. By following these steps, you can fully customize the preorder flow, button style, product selection, and campaign settings.
Step 1 – Create a New Campaign
From the Dotsy PreOrder & Presale dashboard, click the Create new campaign

A modal will appear, guiding you through three main setup steps:
Config (configure preorder settings)
Design (customize button and messages)
Product (select items to include in the campaign)
Step 2 – Config Campaign Settings
In this section, you configure how your preorder campaign behaves.
Main Options:
Preorder settings
Show Preorder when product is out of stock – The preorder button appears only if inventory is 0.
Always show Preorder button – Preorder option is visible regardless of stock status.
Show Preorder only when product in stock – Preorder available only when items are available.
Limit inventory for Preorder – Optional limit for how many preorder units you accept

Preorder button
Text displayed in preorder button and message displayed under the preorder button
Example:
Button text: "PREORDER NOW"
Message: "Ship as soon as possible"
Preorder note
Text displayed in cart, checkout, and transactional emails.
Example: "Pay 10% upfront and the rest when your order ships."
Payment config
Full payment – Customers pay the full amount upfront.
Discount config: Works only with Shopify Payments. You can set a discount percentage or fixed amount for preorders. If discount is not visible, a support link is provided.
Partial payment – Customers pay a deposit now and the balance later.
Discount config: similar to discount config in full payment
Payment text – Message displayed with the payment option on the storefront.


Active dates
Set a start date and end date for the campaign.
Useful for limited-time promotions.

Preorder badge: Enable badge – Show a visual label (e.g., “Pre-Order”) on preorder products to highlight their status.
Fulfillment settings: Control how preorder items are marked in Shopify after checkout.
Unfulfilled: For preorders that will be ready soon, signaling the order should be prepared for shipment shortly.
On Hold: For orders that must wait until all items are available before fulfillment.
Scheduled: For long-lead preorders with a specific future fulfillment date, allowing teams to prioritize in-stock orders first.
Order tags:
Automatically add tags to orders that include preorder items.
Helps with filtering, automation, and internal management in Shopify.
Customer tags
Automatically add tags to customers who purchase preorder items.
Useful for segmentation, remarketing, or follow-up campaigns.
Translate
Customize preorder texts for different store languages.
Select translations – Choose available store languages and edit preorder-related content for each market.
Step 3 – Design Campaign Appearance
Here you customize how the preorder elements appear on your storefront.
Main Options:
Preorder button
Button text – Customize label, e.g., “Preorder Now”.
Color text – Text color in hex format.
Font size / weight – Adjust typography for better visibility.
Background – Button background color.
Border color / radius / padding – Customize shape and spacing.

Preorder message
Supports HTML for styling.
Commonly includes:
Payment details
Shipping estimates
Stock availability
Example:
Preview Panel
Shows a live preview of the preorder button and message as they will appear on your store.
You can preview how the preorder widget work on
specific device (PC / Mobile)
specific product

Step 4 – Choose Products
Add specific products – Select individual products to include in the preorder campaign.
Add all products – Apply preorder settings to your entire catalog.
Once products are added, they will be automatically prepared for preorder after the campaign is published.

Step 5 – Additional Campaign Controls
Edit campaign name – Click on the campaign title to rename it.
Activate / Deactivate – Switch campaign status anytime without deleting it.
Preview on storefront – See how the preorder settings look before making them live.
Step 6 – Save and Publish
Click Save at the top-right corner to apply all settings.
If needed, preview products on your storefront to confirm that:
The preorder button appears correctly.
Payment and message details match your configuration.

Quick Tips
Use Partial Payment for high-value items to encourage early orders.
Always check Active Dates to ensure your campaign starts and ends on time.
HTML in Preorder Message allows advanced formatting for better communication.
